PROGRESSIVE MINISTRY
with HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
ZOE is developing a network and resources for ministries serving high school students. Our hope is to create a "pipeline" of progressive ministries from high school into college. If you want to list your high school youth program with us, please contact us! And if you have program resources to share, send them our way!
Here is our initial listing of progressive Christian resources for high-school aged youth:
Resources for Teens - ProgressiveChristianity.org - featuring TeenText - Bible study with no right answers!
Together Lab - Portland OR - runs a group for high school aged youth from different local churches - a great co-op model for churches with small numbers of high school youth.
Presbyterian Youth and Triennium has an extensive list of youth ministry resources.
Our Whole Lives - outstanding sexuality and spirituality curriculum for progressive churches, with versions for different age groups.
Grace St. Luke's Episcopal Church has a list of resources for youth ministry aimed at combating injustice and examining issues surrounding race and sexuality. This multi-media list includes books, podcasts, articles, and videos.
The Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ has a collection of resources pertaining to youth groups and youth ministry leader conduct. It also has a list of books aimed at youth for personal education.
Fuller Youth Institute has a variety of resources, free or otherwise, for those involved in youth ministry such as books, podcasts, and online courses, with evangelical theology - but much can be adapted for progressive settings.
ELCA Youth Ministry Network - sign up for its e-news for access to resources.
Illustrated Ministry sells progressive Christian "swag" that can be useful for youth ministry.
Souljourning - Rev. Jim Burklo's program resources for children and youth -
